August 2nd - Skating with Cycling Spoken Here
We decided to take some photos of our Tuesday night cycling/skate ride. This is a ride that Mark Farnsworth leads at the local bike shop. Mark does the ride on his skates and other local skaters join in for some bike chasing fun. Mark Sibert is in the picture, Mark Farnsworth is holding the camera and Mark Siegel is getting his skates ready. Funny thing is that in Raleigh about 70% of the skaters are named Mark.
In this photo Mark Sibert demonstrates the use of the Gatorleash to slow down as the pack of cyclists approch an intersection.
It seems that skates almost always out coast cyclists.
Here we can see a photo of Mark braking on a downhill to avoid overrunning the cyclists.
We had a fun skate with the cyclists and did 32 miles. If you are ever in the Raleigh area on a Tuesday night please come out and join us.
Or visit the Triangle Skating Club to skate with the group just about any night of the week.
